In 2017, we created a new Facebook group to help outdoor industry writers, communications, marketing, and editorial professionals find jobs in the outdoor industry.

Our small community of 200 folks is 300k strong—filled with job-seekers and top brands who come together across all outdoor sectors and fields to create one vibrant and human-first digital community.

In 2017, Ali Carr launched Basecamp Outdoor as a small Facebook group to help professionals share advice and network. Today, it’s the go-to hub connecting job seekers, employers, recruiters, and mentors, creating an inclusive space to find jobs, hire talent, and build outdoor careers.

Our Story

  • Ali Carr is the founder of Basecamp Outdoor and a veteran editor and content strategist within the outdoor industry. With experience at Outside magazine, Gear Patrol, Nike’s innovation studio, Rivian, and Microsoft, her editorial and operational background has shaped Basecamp’s growth into the thriving hub it is today.

  • Jenna brings deep marketing and community-building expertise—having led strategy for aerospace, high-tech, and outdoor brands, and worked with the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee. She uses that experience to forge meaningful connections across Basecamp’s talent and brand communities
