part job fair//part networking//part brand discovery

Gather is a career exploration event that facilitates face-to-face conversations between deeply talented candidates & outdoor industry brands.

University of Oregon Sports Product Management Program

We’re proud to welcome the University of Oregon Sports Product Management Program as the presenting sponsor of Gather: Outside Festival. This one-of-a-kind master’s program was built in collaboration with the sports and outdoor product industry’s top brands and leaders. With a curriculum designed and taught by industry professionals, students gain hands-on experience and mentorship that sets them up for global careers in companies like Nike, adidas, On Running, Hydroflask, and more. The program is shaping the future of the outdoor industry—one graduate at a time.

Gather is a proudly sober event

“On a personal note, I LOVED that it was a sober event. Celebrating 4 years of sobriety in August (wooo!) and I often feel out of place at events, nervously clutching my seltzer water. Huge win that everyone was clear-eyed and sober for this event, and I could blend into the crowd. I know the team really appreciated that too, because drunk, pushy candidates are NEVER an ideal Friday night”

(enter into promo code box in checkout, not into passcode box)

  • Entrance to the event will be first come, first serve based on when you check in. We recommend coming as early as 3:30pm to park and get in virtual line.

We’ll have the courtyard ready with snacks, drinks, and folks to chat with from the Colorado Outdoor Equity Grant program while you wait (see if there’s a Board or volunteer opp that might suit you, and get your nerves out talking to friendly faces!)

Once in the event you are welcome to stay until 6pm.

  • The outdoor industry is a bit more casual, even for career events.

Wear something clean, comfy, and that makes you feel confident. If that is a suit, great. If that is a plaid + leggings combo, that works really well in our industry too.

Check out the photos above from last year’s event to see what others wore.

Most hiring managers will be wearing what THEY feel is appropriate for an interview with their brand, so you can get cues on how to dress for an outdoor industry interview through checking out each table.

NOTE: Everyone must go through security to enter this event. Please avoid bringing or wearing metal.

  • You are welcome to, but this is not required or expected. This event is meant to network and chat with recruiters, but they will not be conducting full interviews.

Some hiring managers will take a physical copy, others will request that you fill out their digital form.

(We encourage tailoring resumes for each role you apply for, and almost all brands will require you apply via their digital portals for open roles).

  • Only if it is a service animal trained for a specific task!

  • A water bottle that you can refill (there is one fountain on site), a business card or resume if you’d like to hand them out, and an open mind!

NO METAL! Everyone entering the event will be passing through a metal detector.

Bags are fine, but will be checked.

  • Yes. Please have them register though!
